We pay medical expenses for the following transplants
if the organ has come from a relative or a certified and
verified source of donation: · cornea · small bowel · kidney · kidney / pancreas · liver · heart · lung, or · heart / lung transplant. We will also pay medical expenses for bone marrow transplants (either using your own bone marrow or that of a compatible donor) and peripheral stem cell transplants, with or without high dose chemotherapy when carried out for conditions other than cancer. We pay donor expenses, for each condition needing a transplant whether the donor is a member or not, including: · the harvesting of the organ, whether from live or deceased donor · all tissue matching fees · hospital / operation costs of the donor · any donor complications, but to a maximum of 30 days post-operatively only. We do not pay for treatment received as an out-patient before or after the transplant for either you or your donor unless you have bought the Worldwide Medical Plus option. We do not pay for anti-rejection medicines unless you have bought the Worldwide medicines and equipment option three or more years before needing these medicines. We do not pay medical costs for you to have an organ harvested, when the intended recipient is not a Bupa International member.
