TRAVEL ASSISTANCE COVER
Previous provisions
- Insurance scope and period of cover: This insurance cover is valid throughout the world and in Spain, outside of the insured's province of primary residence, with the exception of those covers which expressly have exclusive validity abroad. Its period of cover is linked to accident insurance.
- Validity: To receive covered benefits the insured's address must be in Spain, the insured must reside in Spain and his or her time out of said primary residence must not exceed 60 days per trip.
Included covers
1. Medical
In the event that the insured as an accident or suffers from an illness the insurer shall bear the cost of:
a. The ambulance expense for transportation to the nearest clinic or hospital.
b. The check-up performed by the medical team, in contact with the physician attending to the insured person who is injured or ill to determine the appropriate measures to be taken for the best treatment and the ideal means for his or her possible transfer to another, more appropriate hospital centre or to his or her residence.
c. Of the transportation expenses, for the most appropriate means of transportation, of the wounded or ill, to the prescribed hospital centre or his or her habitual residence. In the event that the insured is admitted to a hospital centre far from his or her residence the insurer shall bear the cost, at the appropriate time, of the subsequent transfer of the insured to his or her residence.
The means of transportation used in Europe and countries bordering the Mediterranean, when the urgency and severity of the case so requires, will be a special air ambulance.
In other cases, or in the rest of the world, the transportation will be arranged via a regular-line airplance or by the swiftest and most appropriate means, depending on the circumstances.
